Hi everybody!
This week, I am going to talk about flipped vocabulary teaching videos. In this task, we learned how to flip a class that means teaching target subject at home via videos and practising at school. In this way, by concentrating more on the issues that are not understood during the time spent with the students at school, we can complete the deficiencies and use our time effectively. But in this way, teachers have to take into consideration the subject with its all aspects. Because, the student can not be able to ask questions in her mind while learning the subject on his/her own, so teachers who prepare such videos should prepare comprehensive and also simple videos in a way that does not create any question marks in mind. So extra care needs to be taken in this regard. While I and my groupmate(Tunç) were reviewing the first draft we prepared, we decided that we should simplify the draft we prepared, considering that our target audience may be confused on some issues. We slowed down conversations, added subtitles, and reused target words. The application that allowed us to do these and which we thought was an easy interface was moovly. We added 2 activities at the end of the video to test what students have learned. Nearpod was the application that allowed us to easily include these activity ideas in the video.
Take care of yourself!
